How To Use HP Scanning Software On Windows OS and macOS System
- Install the HP Smart app and configure the printer using a Windows or macOS computer.
- Perform the steps below if you are configuring the printer for a Wi-Fi network.
- Place the printer and computer in close proximity to the Wi-Fi router.
- Turn on Wi-Fi and connect to your network on your computer. Disconnect the Ethernet cable and use the Wi-Fi connection throughout the setup process if the computer is linked to the network via an Ethernet cable.
- Enable Bluetooth on the PC in order for HP Smart to recognize the printer during the installation process.
- HP Smart – Microsoft Store (Windows) or HP Smart – Mac App Store (macOS).
- If requested to sign in with Microsoft to use the app on many devices, you can sign in or select No, thanks to proceed.
- Before downloading, disconnect from your Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection.
- When configuring HP Smart for the first time, you must establish or login in to an HP account in order to use all printer features.
- Click Add Printer or the plus symbol in HP Smart to search for the printer, and then follow the on-screen directions to complete the installation.
- If the printer is not found during Wi-Fi setup, restore the printer’s Wi-Fi setup mode, restart the printer, shut and reopen HP Smart, and then attempt adding the printer again.
